Last week the Southwest Chapter of IIDA, International Interior Design Association, held the 3rd annual Couture Fashion Show. The event was held at the Phoenix Art Museum, which set a great atmosphere. The purpose of this event is to showcase the color forecast for that year. Design/Architecture firms to pair up with a textile, tile, signage, laminate, carpet, wall covering, etc. company and choose their material from a color that they were given. Each firm has a few months to create their outfit and has to use a designer from their team to be the model, so it is quite a celebration to see them all done. I actually got to participate as the model for my group last year and had so much fun. So here are a few examples from this year.....
This Dress was the winner.
My vote for viewers choice.
Here is a clip of the finale.

On Valentines Day my boyfriend, Stephen, and I spent the day walking around the Willow Historic District in Central Phoenix. The weather was great and everyone was out with their families, including their dogs. There were 11 houses on tour and many of them were completely remodeled. There was one house in particular that I really enjoyed, along with everyone else, since the line for this house was the longest. Enjoy!

Just added another loop belt to the shop. Take a look. I love the combo of golden yellow and a blueish gray.

Last night I watched a movie that I would recommend to anyone who is in the mood to see good food and accomplishment. The movie is Julie and Julia. Which is actually based on a book by Julie Powell. I recommend watching it while drinking a glass of wine....since you would pair many of the meals cooked during the movie with a glass of wine. Cheers to Julia Child!
